The Rutland Forth of July weekend is an exciting time. One of my favorite times is photographing this event and catching up with old and new friends. I always use this weekend to do a documentary; to capture the moments as they are happening.
Family and friends
Whenever I have friends and family vist from out of town, I often try to take photographs and make portraits to remember the special moments. When my cousin and aunt visited from out of town for a night, I took took some photographs of them. Once special session I had was doing a family friend, Mr.Deane's father’s photographs in front of the plane that he flew in the Korean conflict. It was powerful to see that look into the past. I also get a lot of satisfaction out of candid moments, because they capture a moment and can elicit so many good memories.
Doing more senior photography
Being a Senior in High School is one of the most important times in a young person's life. One key moment is the Senior Portrait. This is often the last formal photograph a person ever takes. It freezes the student in time, a memory of one of the best periods of their life.
Photographs are also important for adults looking for a fresh start in a new career, as well as people who want to enter the acting or modeling field.
My first goal, was and always is to give an amazing experience to everyone who steps in front of my camera. I hope to make people comfortable and take my photos in a way to capture the feelings that they want to remember. My second goal is just treat everyone special when it comes to capturing their image. I want people to continue thinking of me when they are planning for events that they want captured.
I am looking forward to photographing many things in 2017; weddings, seniors, and everyday life.
I can’t wait to ring in the new year it will be bigger and better then 2016.

With photographing all year long I save this images that I think are my top ten image of the year. Many of them have an emotional connection to both the viewers and the subject being photographed. The emotion is the most important thing to all my subject that I photographed. All of of tech skill with a camera is great but nothing with out randomness of people emotion. Enjoy everyone

It would have been done last year, but instead of creating great portraits for them. I was deal with my car being broken into and all of my camera tools was stolen. So I lost the chance of photographing. This bummed me out for a long while because, I felt like let them down for that year.
I didn’t want these sisters to think that I forgot about their portraits. This time I was more prepared to make their images as great as possible. It became personal to me because, I was ask to do a job. I told them yes to their Portrait job. I want to make sure this time I had nothing would go wrong for this photo session. I felt like success when I completed their session. I tried to make sure we had fun and kept it as easy going as possible. As they let me into their circle as a guest for the hour I spent with them.
Here are a few of their images

I'm always honored to photograph little kids because of the great variety of emotions that they give me. Before the session, I take time to get to know the child so that they feel comfortable with me taking their picture. This connection gives me a great chance to show who the child really is.
Through the many months of developing my style of photography, I have been able to discover what I really love creating. Freely photographing people in the moment allows me to see real emotion. Life goes by quickly, but this special time that I'm able to capture become images that parents can treasure for a lifetime.

These one had more of the traditional feel in one location but was able to still tell the story about them and make you feel the passion that they interact with one an another.
We use the park shack to get a different feel to give me a softer feel.
Took the time to shoot them doing the first meet up of them waiting and getting to see each other. the feeling of them not seeing each other many days.

So the first challenge is to be able to stop everyone from just dropping in the section that we are in. which would disrupt people skate sessions where I had to remember I would to be quick with the shot but still slow enough to view the whole image that have in my mind.
The second challenge is that model sitting has to find his place on the wall. Do to the fact that the wall has spray paint on it. That made the wall of the skate park slick as can be for Body placement. This turned be a great hurtle that played in the direction that I could pose the model in this situation.
The third challenge was the lighting situation. While we inside the skate park bowl I place the model in the shade area, which help me, have even color to use in the post-production. The angles that I shot also help me control the light and as well as directing the model to get the best result.
Thank you

this one i was able to shut off one of my continues light which allowed me to get some shading left side of his face.
I add turned both light on got even lighting on his skin tone. Also had a light behind the backdrop to help get distance between his body.the light help me do that mostly in a very tight area.
I had to make sure that i had my subject in focus. I would focus on his eyes that give you a key to see that person.
While using the my white backdrop. i had to play around with the shutter speed and the F-stops the light set up was still the same as the black backdrop. I had to remember that the reflection would throw my metering off.
]]>
I didn’t have a ton of time to compose the images because I was in the process of capturing the emotions of Gavin. So I made sure to give myself enough room to make adjustments to get rid of distractions in the photos. I also made sure that I could photograph in the shade so I could get even lighting as much as possible. If we had to be in the sun I made sure that we would not be facing the sunlight. I use the sunlight to backlight them and also as rim-light as much as could.
The best part of the day was just spending time with a friend from kindergarten and their kid. Creating these images are more fun to do for the friend that you have known since childhood because they will cherish the time they spent with you and their kid.

I was walking around the neighborhood. There was a factory that has been not running for many years. I walk around the factory to what was around it. To my surprise I saw some men working inside the factory. I saw that I could walk up to them and just talk to them for a few minutes.
I spoke to them they told me that they had been working at the this warehouse for about 2 years breaking down of the heavy equipments that are getting shipped to South America.

My plan on rebuilding is like the kick starter. It is gear to everyone that has seen my work and would help support me with my journey. The pledge that you would make is to help me buy a replacement camera and lens. This would help me continue making good work to share to all of you.
The goal is to raise $700 just to replace the camera with everyone’s help I know that we can make this happen.
Thank you
Audris Guerce
*Please note that metal print takes about 2 week to be arrive.
I will drive these gifts to you if you live in the Worcester county or with in 20 mile of Worcester

While shoot this couple in the harsh sunlight I was able to use the concrete as my reflector to help give me some fill light to them. I also had to manage how I was going to balance their skin tone so they would have good exposures. Metering for the skin tone and the tee shirt did this for me. Much of this is being done in matter of second.
As I am photographing the couple I have to see the moment developing in front of me and also moving around to try to get different angle at the same time. I am giving them some direction as I see their moments created before my very eye.
The best is part of my job is get to see how their relationship is developing while capturing them in the moment.

A portrait does not have to be an image of a person face. A portrait can be a person head of hair. These is reason why took this photo, because the color their hair stood out in my eyes. She happened to stand near a big window that let a lot of natural light in and help to highlight the hair and it became the main focus.
]]>I walked to him and I ask if I could take his portrait. He was a guy that just hit a hard time. He was panhandling to help support himself and his wife while he was taking classes at the local college. He was taking computer science classes, so he could get back on his feet.

Since I didn’t know I was going to photograph, I started to take photographs inside the service of the church groups it felt like the run of mill photographs that any would take. Than I got the AHA moment was tell these ladies that we would have to go outside in mild weather but had a just a nip of chill in the air. They did not like the idea of that one bit. I had to explain to them that it would work better than just to take a photograph indoors. I told that we all would be in the same weather together. As I was reluctant to go they had been reluctant to follow me, because they come from the warm islands of Haiti is was some thing that they deal with in the cold New England states. I promise them that I would the best photograph for them.
I was able to photograph some of the younger church members that also sing in the church. We had a good time working together. I almost got a beat down when I ask one of the young girls and guys had to face into the camera. We had a great time with the hour and half. I will love to work with them again. Thank you all PS I learn not to have any one girl jump in heels. I got lucky no busted their heels.
]]>It didn't help that the boss say he didn't know what a good photograph was. Which was kinda of a bummer for me because I had to look to myself and see what was a good photograph. I also had to use the web to see how to photograph the sports I covered. It gave me the chance to take tons of photos and pair it down. I had to over shoot the games to get these moments and the other thing I did was to speak to these Athletes and they would see them self in a different way. this what would take until they figured it out.
]]>This was taken a few months ago but i didnt have much time to work on this until tonight. This was done with house lights. The best part about this was he was crying for 20mins before i found him. I ask him on simple question and that was did he want to take a pic with in three shot i got this picture. Hope u guys like
]]>These are some of the results that i got.
This next one i had no clue what they had going on but all i know is that they love doing their job. They get to have a ton of fun when they are enjoying everyone else it brings out the crazy fun in them. Thank you all for letting me Photographing you. Have a great weekend
]]>I would like to thank the Deane family for letting me spend the day on there 20th wedding anniversary.

The Run for New Bedford
I have made a series of photographs documenting Jon Mitchell’s successful run for mayor of New Bedford. In this work I have attempted to explore the political process on a local level.
Jon Mitchell was raised in New Bedford and North Dartmouth and graduated from Dartmouth High School. He attended Harvard University, earning a B.A. degree in Economics. He then attended Georgetown University Law School where he served with The Judge Advocate General’s Corps, which is the legal branch or specialty of a military concerned with military justice and military law. Following this he worked as a federal prosecutor in the United States Department of Justice.
While following Mr. Mitchell to many of his campaign events I witnessed the hard work, public presentation, strategy sessions, and downtime that go on in the daily life of a candidate campaigning for public office and after the election.
I was able to photograph Jon Mitchell in this transitional period, as he became the new mayor of a small but historically important city on the south coast of New England.
I was able to make images of the mayor-elect as he held meetings with other elected public officials of New Bedford, as he acknowledged well wishers upon his successful campaign, as he greeted and spoke with the public, as well as his inauguration ceremony as mayor of New Bedford, Massachusetts.
His goals are to make New Bedford the vibrant city it once was. With the issue of public education I have witnessed and photographed the mayor addressing the question of whether the state should take over the public school systems. Mayor Mitchell held public forums where parents could voice their issues and offer suggestions.
In his new role, Mayor Mitchell frequently attends cultural events and the openings of small businesses. The major goal of the mayor and his officials is to improving the state of the economy of New Bedford, and I am interested in observing how this happens.
